<p>The MD- Wellness position ( Part Time Telemedicine) will be responsible for functioning as a clinical team member to both the Quality department and the clinical staff. As a member of the provider staff, they are expected to be familiar with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the clinic and work collaboratively to achieve them. They must be cognizant of, and comply with, all policies and procedures as well as pertinent state and federal regulations. As part of Med First&rsquo;s Quality initiatives and programs, the MD &ndash; Wellness will be responsible for annual prevention and wellness, chronic care management, medication management, risk management and continuity of care.</p> <p>This position will be remote but require travel within North Carolina to our other practices up to 25% of the time. Additionally, the delivery of patient care will be via both in-office visits and telemedicine. Our current model is leaning heavily on telemedicine.</p> <p><strong>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <p>1. Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.</p> <p>2. Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.</p> <p>3. Prescribe medication in accordance with NC statute and professional practice guidelines.</p> <p>4. Perform minor surgical procedures.</p> <p>5. Arrange referrals for patients requiring services not offered by our clinics</p> <p>6. Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow up in a timely manner.</p> <p>7. Stay current on evidence based guidelines published by the AAP and implement any changes found.</p> <p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p> <p>Supervises Mid-Level Providers (Physician Assistants and Family Nurse Practitioners)</p> <p><strong>TEAM COLLABORATION</strong></p> <p>Each provider coordinates the clinical care teams assigned to them including the Medical Assistants, Lab Technicians, Referral Coordinators and Office Manager.</p> <p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS</strong></p> <p>&middot; Current North Carolina State Medical License</p> <p>&middot; Current D.E.A Certificate</p> <p>&middot; Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice; if Board Eligible at the time of hire but be Board Certified within 3 years of hire date.</p> <p>&middot; Insurability (malpractice).</p> <p>&middot; Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)</p> <p>&middot; ACLS or Advanced Life Support within 12 months of employment</p> <p>&middot; DOT certification</p> <p>&middot; Must have had experience in Value Based care. If not, must be willing to learn and embrace this model of care under Accountable Care Organizations.</p> <p>Credentialed with Medicare is a plus</p>
